Graphic Design IV / Spring 2023: Data Viz
Description:
In this project, I created a data visualization comparing a chosen USA state and a foreign country based on their population size, geographics, economy, and my selected choice, the cold climate temperatures that both are known for. The purpose of this project was to develop a coherent way to visually communicate quantitative content illustrated through the use of a circle-style group.
Project Goals:
› Develop your abilities to visually communicate large amounts of abstract information.
› Create unique, visual alternatives to off-the-shelf charts and graphs.
› Work within specific style category

Project Considerations:
You’ll be assigned one country and then you'll pick a US state to compare against. You'll also be given an audience/environment. Data for each must represent the following categories:
1. Geography a. location of country b. location of state c. area of square miles
2. Population a. population total b. population density per square mile
3. Economics a. gross (national/state) product b. gross (national/state) per capita
4. Your choice based on research, what makes sense both visually and data wise
