Scene 1: In a certain village, there lived a Brahmin named Drona, who denounced all luxuries of life. He followed rigorous practices of worship even during cold, hot and rainy seasons.
Scene 2: One of his devotees gifted him with a pair of calves. He took great care of them and fed them properly. In due time, they grew enviable fat. One day, a thief noticed the calves.
Scene 3: He thought, " Stupid Brahmin doesn't know the value of these calves, I shall steal and sell them to make some money."
Scene 4: He planned and returned to steal the calves at night.
Scene 5: On his way, he met a demon. "I am hungry, I will eat you, " said the demon, in a thundering voice.
Scene 6: "Wait! Wait, dear friend! I am a thief; I am on my way to Brahmin's house to steal his calves. You can eat the Brahmin instead of me", said the thief. The demon agreed.
Scene 7: The thief and demon proceeded towards the Brahmins house.
Scene 8: Reaching the house of the Brahmin, the thief and devil got into an argument.
Scene 9: "Let me eat the Brahmin first, I am hungry," said the demon.
Scene 10: "No! Let me take the calves and go. Then you can eat the Brahmin". Roared the thief.
Scene 11: The noise woke up the Brahmin.
Scene 12: As soon as he saw the demon, he started chanting some mantras. The demon uttered a sharp cry and disappeared. Then the Brahmin got hold of a thick stick and thrashed him. Thus, saving himself from both.
