Roxanne (console table) is the first piece of furniture designed by Robert Scott since founding the studio in late 2013. The console table has been designed to seek a deeper relationship between the user and the object by inviting the viewer to interact with it through touch. The form has been inspired from the elegant and fluid shapes that are created by the erosion of wind and water on rock. The aim was to make a form that is charming to the eye so that the viewer is lured in to touch and experience the beautiful tactile quality of the material and the form it has took. The main body of the table has been constructed using a process of stack lamination and than carved by hand to reveal its new form. The free bending and bonding of veneers create the spiral leg.
