The Huron Watershed Counsel is an organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the local rivers. Each year, they publish their annual report on what has been done. This magazine design ties together the natural, organic feel associated with free-flowing water while still maintaining an organized and business friendly layout. The difficulties I encountered with this task was trying to find a "natural" feeling design element that guided the viewers eye while not feeling too obvious or cliché. Another challenge was being dynamic yet consistent across each spread. I was able to accomplish this by having the section headers organized in the same pattern on the left page, while mixing up the usage of the organic green shape and image placement on each spread.
