Sinopse
Em uma cidade europeia vivem 4 jovens: o viajante, a imigrante, a executiva e o menino de luto. Apesar de não se conhecerem, eles possuem algo em comum além da solidão: estão na busca, cada um à sua maneira, por um ninho, refúgio do cotidiano.
Formato
Composta por mais de 90 páginas ilustradas em técnica mista (acrílica, pastel e lápis) sobre papel, as histórias são contadas de forma paralela e enviesada, usando mais desenhos que textos, numa mistura de banda desenhada com livro ilustrado.
Publicação
O livro foi publicado no Brasil, em 2018, de forma independente através de uma campanha de financiamento coletivo na plataforma Catarse. A campanha superou as metas e arrecadou mais de R$ 30.000. Foram impressas 1000 cópias, das quais 800 foram vendidas até agora.

Synopsis
Four young people live in a European city: the traveler, the immigrant, the executive and the grieving boy. Although they don't know each other, they have something in common besides loneliness: they are searching, each in his own way, for a nest, a refuge from everyday life.
Format
Composed of over 90 pages illustrated in mixed technique (acrylic, pastel and pencil) on paper, the stories are told in a parallel and skewed manner, using more drawings than text, in a mixture of comics and illustrated book.
Publication
The book was published in Brazil in 2018 independently through a collective funding campaign on the Catarse platform. The campaign exceeded its goals and raised more than R$30,000. 1000 copies were printed, of which 800 have been sold so far.

O viajante
É aventureiro, desapegado e observador. Saiu de sua casa para conhecer o mundo, as pessoas e as paisagens. Mas ao chegar na cidade, ficou encantado com as gaivotas que estão sempre sobrevoando o céu e se pergunta se não está na hora de aterrizar e fazer seu ninho.

The traveler
He is adventurous, detached, and observant. He left his home to get to know the world, the people, and the landscapes. But when he arrives in the city, he is enchanted by the seagulls that are always flying over the sky and wonders if it is not time to land and make his nest.

A imigrante
Menina doce, até um pouco ingênua, sonha em conhecer o mundo. Saiu do seu país em busca de um novo ninho. Mas ao chegar na cidade, percebe que não é bem recebida, as pessoas são frias e não a tratam bem. Sente as dificuldades de morar só e não conhecer ninguém. Tem saudades de casa, de se sentir acolhida e amada.

The Immigrant
Sweet and naïve girl, she dreams of seeing the world. She left her country in search of a new nest. But when she gets to the city, she realizes that she is not well received, that people are cold and do not treat her well. She feels the difficulties of living alone and not knowing anyone. She misses home, feeling welcomed and loved.
"I am a foreigner, but I am like you"
O neto
Muito próximo da avó desde pequeno, a doença dela os uniu ainda mais e sua morte o deixou desamparado e preso às suas memórias. Ao calcular as despesas médicas e hospitalares deixadas pela avó, ele percebe que a única solução é vender a casa onde foi criado pela avó para quitar as dívidas, mas ele ainda é muito apegado às lembranças.
“Quando lembro de algo, é como se minha vó voltasse.
Mas logo depois desaparecesse, como um sol que nasce, mas precisa se pôr.”
The Grandson
Very close to his grandmother since he was a boy, her illness brought them even closer together and her death left him helpless and stuck to his memories. When calculating the medical and hospital expenses left by his grandmother, he realizes that the only solution is to sell the house where he was raised by his grandmother to pay off the debts, but he is still very attached to the memories.
"When I remember something, it's as if my grandmother comes back.
But soon after she disappears, like a sun that rises, but needs to set."

Agitada com a correria e responsabilidades do mundo adulto, ela se deixa levar pelo estresse. Após um incêndio que destrói todo seu apartamento e os bens que mais valorizava, percebe que tudo na vida é passageiro. Então decide se voltar para dentro de si como forma de autoconhecimento e buscar conexão com algo maior.
“Preciso encontrar o oceano que há em mim”.
The Executive
Shaken by the hustle and responsibilities of the adult world, she gets carried away by stress. After a fire destroys her entire apartment and the possessions she treasured most, she realizes that everything in life is fleeting. So she decides to turn inward as a way to seek self-knowledge and connection with something greater.

A CRIACAO // THE MAKING

Onde as gaivotas fazem seus ninhos é o primeiro livro de Minna Miná, produzido durante um ano como projeto final de conclusão da graduação. Sua premissa nasceu a partir da vivência e experiência da autora na cidade do Porto (Portugal), onde fez intercâmbio. Gostava muito de observar e desenhar pessoas nas praças e cafés e, principalmente, de ver as gaivotas passarem. Percebeu então que nunca havia visto um de seus ninhos e que não sabia de onde viam, nem para onde iam. Ela se deu conta que, como elas, temos nossos próprios ninhos e trajetórias que ficam ocultos para aqueles que só nos veem passar. O livro é sobre essa busca por um ninho como um constante caminhar, que não tem a ver com permanecer, ou alcançar, mas que é como viver.

Where the seagulls make their nests is Minna Miná's first book, produced during a year as a final graduation project. Its premise was born from the author's life and experience in the city of Porto (Portugal), where she did an exchange program. She loved to observe and draw people in the squares and cafes, and especially to watch the seagulls passing by. She then realized that she had never seen one of their nests and that she didn't know where they came from or where they went. She realized that, like them, we have our own nests and trajectories that are hidden from those who only see us passing by. The book is about this search for a nest as a constant walking, which is not about staying, or reaching, but is like living.

O livro "Onde as gaivotas fazem seus ninhos" foi lançado dia 9 de março de 2017, em João Pessoa, Paraíba. A ocasião foi marcada pela exposição de 25 originais que compunham o livro e pela noite de autógrafos. Os apoiadores puderam receber suas recompensas (livro, prints, marcadores de página, cartões postais e originais dos personagens) e a venda do livro e de produtos relacionados estava liberada para o público geral.

The book "Where the seagulls make their nests" was launched on March 9, 2017, in João Pessoa, Paraíba. The occasion was marked by the exhibition of 25 originals from the book and the book signing evening.
