Asian Americans remain absent from history books taught in schools, which lead to the misconceptions of who we are to the American public. People sometimes see us as foreigners who haven’t actually been here for centuries. The root of the problem was education. To resolve this issue I decided to educate young children so they can carry this knowledge throughout their lives. I decided to design an educational kit about Asian American history that includes lessons about events and people who have contributed towards making the American dream possible.
