In this project I had the pleasure to create the brazilian cover of Ainda Estou Aqui (The in Between) by Marc Klein, published by Editora ALT (Globo livros)
The book tells a supernatural love story about Tessa, a teenager girl and aspiring photographer desperately trying to make contact with Skylar, her boyfriend, who died in a car accident that almost killed them both.
This story was adapted to film in 2022. Directed by by Arie Posin, written by Marc Klein, and starring Joey King and Kyle Allen, the movie is now streaming on Netflix.

The cover art presents two key moments of the story, overlapped as in a double exposure black & white picture, like the ones Tessa was passionate for:
The first is a self portrait she took when she finally got to see Skylar for the first time after he died, and it shows his reflection on her eyes. The second highlight is when they are finally together on the afterlife, walking together in a rainy, noir and monochromatic Paris - exactly how Tessa imagined her afterlife would be.
The lettering was designed as a reference to old street movies' signs, as the one the couple have met for the first time. The color blue was chosen because this is the exact color that Skylar's ghost had.
