This second year project was for Computing and design module; within it, we had to analyse every aspect of different print media, for example: a poster, flyer, double page magazine spread, single page spread, leaflet and front cover. This analysis would help us to understand different design decisions within print publications.
We then had to pick a company of our choice and write a small report on how the role of a designer has changed through the use of technology. The first ‘analysing’ section of the project helped us with creating our own suitable layouts for the report. I chose to work on a 20cm x 40cm document, which I found to be of quite a unique size, and printed it off on 250gsm to later roll up into a scroll style to present within my final piece. The final bundle included the report, a small A6 booklet of analysis, various examples of Doc Martins visual print merchandise, the iconic yellow Doc laces wrapped around every individual item and a personalised antique looking cardboard box.
