Associação Salvador

Associação Salvador is a Portuguese nonprofit organisation that fights for the inclusion of people with disabilities.
This campaign was directed to the city council candidates, asking them to take into consideration all the accessibility problems in Lisbon and Oporto.

"PONHA-SE NO NOSSO LUGAR" was the claim created for this campaign, which means "Put yourself in our shoes".

Through print ads, billboards, social media and public relations, we questioned the candidates with information that they may have not known or we wanted them to include in their campaigns.
* Mr. Candidate, did you know that more than 70% of the city councils don't have an accessibility plan?
* Mr. Candidate, did you know that in the Alvalade neighbourhood, there are over 100 spaces that aren't accessible?

*Mr. Candidate, did you know that in Av. da Liberdade, 90% of the crosswalks aren't lowered?
The campaign got the main candidates to meet with Associação Salvador and get to know better the accessibility issues across the cities.

A second phase of the campaign took place in the national elections for the parliament seats. Again, all the candidates were challenged to make a change. The campaign didn't directly aim the candidates, but had always a word that reminded the candidate or the candidate's political party.
* We've been having a whole block of complaints concerning accessibility in the streets and buildings. (Bloco de Esquerda)

* Take the initiative of making accessibility a real priority. (Iniciativa Liberal)
* So democratic that even to vote we lack accessibility? (Social Democratic Party)

* Enough not talking about accessibility. (Chega)
* Congressmen, now that the seat is yours, put yourself in our shoes.
