The story begins in a fish market where a dead crab happens to be our lead role. The story is about it's fear coming out of his crabhole. This crab spends six months of its life with the same fear in the beach and never comes out. His daily routine was to stay in his place and silently hearing the sounds of the sea. It is then this thought strikes him, that " I have already tried doing nothing, I knew what it feels like doing nothing, now, why not do something" "I don't belong here and why shouldn't I go out." He finally comes out of his crabhole , he reaches the sea and gets carried away by the waves. He starts exploring. He starts seeing the world. The only fear that pulled him back is no more. He spends two years seven months and eighteen days and gets caught by a fishermen. He even meets his friends in the journey and he dies happy. The story ends in the same fish market as the crab concludes saying - "Let your fears warn your future, but don't let them stop you."
