"Naked" Play Festival
In the Fall of 2009, I was the scenic designer in the "Naked Play Festival", a set of short plays preformed with "bare bones" staging. My first hurdle was creating a more intimate stage out of the John Patrick Theater (A 512 seat proscenium theater).
Second, the next issue was merging all the plays together, and the concept I used was a chalkboard. I imagined that the chalkboard was the perfect window, for it can display important images, get erased really quickly, and more images quickly scribbled onto it.
Also in this festival, there was the show Sister Cities, which was a full one act show, and I took more of a traditional approach to the design.
