The Wrong Number – Branding

THE WRONG NUMBER
BRANDING

"The Wrong Number" is 1920's slang for an "undesirable person," or, more likely, someone who the mafia would have a hit out on. For my BFA thesis project, I created a branding system for a Prohibition-era inspired bar, playing into the retro aesthetic by choosing period colors and imagery, and rendering all of the type by hand.

When presenting this project, I wanted to display it in as realistic of a manner as possible. This meant constructing a bar, painting signs by hand, having beer both in bottles and on tap, and including elements of a real bar such as branded glasses, menus, and coasters.

Student project completed at William Paterson University. Instructor: Angela DeLaura.
