Series of typographic logos that I've done so far.
Some are for school, while some are for personal use.

From left to right:

熱 (or hot), in Simplified Chinese, this was simplified from an actual word written with calligraphy brush. The strokes attempts to portray hotness with its tapered-thin ends.

 

黄 (or yellow, or a Chinese surname), was done for a self-identity project. 黄 (Huang, or Ng) is my surname.

馬 (or horse), in Traditional Chinese, was done as a type logo for the Year of Horse (2014).

 

Top Row
Type logo done for a school assignment titled "Unsolvable". The one on the left was an initial logo idea for the Chinese version of the title. The concept was to imbue mathematical operators/equations into the logo.

Bottom Row
Logo done for a theatre event. The logo embodied the essence of theatricality and drama with a tear represented by a quotation mark. The quotation marks also represent the literary aspect of the event.

神遊: Done as a fan art for a Taiwanese singer, Yoga Lin. Play of shapes and lines in an attempt to create contrast.

幸福 (or Happiness) was done for the cover of a book. A number of strokes was taken away from the complete word to suggest an incomplete happiness, which can still be seen as happiness.

追遠 (or Remembrance) was done for a school assignment. To represent remembrance visually, I've used the lines of billowing smoke (from candles and incense) as inspiration and develop it into a graphical element, playing with the positive/negative space. The graphical element was also imbued into the Chinese type logo as well.
