Sculptural Precinct
Problem Statement
The neighborhood faces issues from fragmentation, lack of public amenities and degradation, however is rich in culture and encompasses a vibrant labyrinth. Although there is a great deal of neglect, it shows promise through its people and the communities that exist within.
Concept
Taking from my problem statement, my concept circles around the idea of Trust is Humanity. The idea that one can improve a space by trusting the people who use it. With a focus on moving forward, and creating a community in the city, my project draws on the talents of the people in the community to create a multi-functional urban plaza with a space for people to show of their talents and wares. By improving on the existing infrastructure in the park and then proposing a phased development forward into the precinct, this project aims to create a better everyday life for the community.
