Wes Anderson Films As Book Covers

In this project, I attempted to create conceptual book covers based on the main character relationships in Wes Anderson movies. I explored their connections through metaphors and visual symbolism.
Ned & Steve Zissou, from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2005)

I represented their relationship as an Octopus, Ned's symbol, trying to save an anchor, which is a metaphor for  that is slowly dragging it deeper into the water, which is essentially what happens in the movie.
For all of the book covers, I decided to go with whimsical hand-drawn typography to show the sense of quirk and wonder Wes Anderson films tend to have.
M. Gustave & Zero, from The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

I represented both of them as different animals to show them as very unlikely partners in crime: M. Gustave being a peacock due to his vanity, and Zero a rabbit to represent his intelligence and speed.
Mr. & Mrs. Fox, from Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

Due to the film in itself being a metaphor for humans, family, identity, and greed. I thought it would be interesting to depict Mr. & Mrs. Fox as humans instead of foxes, but keep the chicken-hunting.
Thank you for watching!
