A DIGITAL HOME FOR BERLIN FILM LOVERS
For over 40 years, Berlin-based cinema franchise Yorck has been a refuge for the city’s film lovers. In each of its fourteen locations, the group brings the best movies from across the world to Berlin audiences. To further establish Yorck as the city’s go-to destination for arthouse films, we created a stunning yet functional mobile-first website, featuring an editorially-inspired layout and state-of-the-art booking process – to help spotlight the latest releases and their showtimes in Yorck’s various cinemas.

CHALLENGE
After evaluating the technical challenges and constraints, we devised a shared vision for the new site through workshops with both employees and industry experts. We then worked in close collaboration with the client to design and develop the new website in an agile project setup, with a focus on delivering a modern and sophisticated customer experience powered by highly integrated CMS.
SOLUTION
Combining a clean, light aesthetic with an editorially-inspired design, we built a new site that makes discovering the latest art house releases easy and straightforward. With our mobile-first approach, we ensured that the user experience would be as intuitive as possible – allowing busy Berliners to find and purchase the tickets they want, all while on the go.
A NEW BOLD DESIGN
We took Yorck in a new, aspirational brand direction, with a stunning art direction and bold typography paired with bright, bold colours - keeping usability and customer satisfaction front-of-mind.
A FRESH LAYOUT
Redesigning the entire architecture of the website from scratch, we introduced an intuitive navigation concept with a fresh site layout, allowing visitors to easily browse the latest blockbusters, discover new indie films, and find screening times for their nearest cinema.
A DYNAMIC CMS SYSTEM
For the website’s backend, we implemented a streamlined, dynamic CMS system significantly reducing lead times for most internal tasks.
A SEAMLESS BOOKING EXPERIENCE
We developed a fast and simple purchase journey, in which visitors can easily book tickets in under a minute – and sometimes even faster. ;-)
By reimagining the look and technical capabilities of Yorck’s website, we successfully boosted its performance, vastly improving the cinema franchise’s Google rankings and establishing their new, dynamic digital presence.
