The Paradox of Time

Does it drive you up the wall not being able to tell time accurately?

Today, men’s perception of time has been distorted. Society is governed by each second that passes that resulted in an endless rat race and distinct time-poverty. Referencing Slow Design’s principle, reflect, The Paradox of Time questions the intoxication with speed and the idea that more is more—cramming to achieve more within a limited time frame. A clock is deconstructed by taking away the minutes and seconds to highlight the very concept that clock is no longer showing the natural course of time but, rather, artificial time that dictates the activities of men.

The Paradox of Time is an artwork submitted for The U Showcase, an exhibition of student work curated by Underscore, “HACKED”. Alongside the theme of creative experimentation, students were given a week to hack a subject or object, assigning the familiar subject or object a new function.
