Catch-22

Catch-22
Noun, plural

A dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting or dependent conditions.

Catch-22 is a series of zines put together to communicate the issues of the fast-paced lifestyle, specifically in local context (Singapore). It is designed to question and enrich readers’ understanding of ‘slow’, a term that is often misinterpreted and carries negative connotations.

Written in a pensive tone of voice, the series is a reflection of the experiences the authors had with the pace of life in Singapore. It touches on the dilemmas of everyday life, the struggles with the perceptions of time, and the erosions that speed had caused in different aspects.

A collaboration with Beverley Ongah.

Tick, tick, tick. The seconds ticked away, second by second, resonating in the skull silently loud.
