Spicy Ginger-Lemon Mocktails
The recipe can be found at Eatery Berlin!
It is still winter and the cold coupled with little light slowly but surely wears on the mind. Everywhere people sneeze and cough and you would like to bathe in disinfectant to stay healthy. This recently got us thinking about what else we can do, besides exercise and good nutrition, to strengthen ourselves from the inside out. Quickly ginger came to the table, as we drink ginger tea just at the first scratch in the throat because it disinfects and keeps us from getting ill every now and then. We wanted to preserve the power and taste of ginger but make it easier to enjoy and variable to use. With all the good effects on health, we want ginger to enhance our dishes and drinks.
Fresh ginger juice from the slow juicer
We wanted to achieve fresh ginger juice with all the good ingredients, frozen as small portions to ginger ice cubes. The beauty of freshly squeezed ginger juice is that you can use it for everything, even without having to boil the fresh ginger beforehand. In doing so, the slow juicer helps to get everything out of the fruit, or in this case, the ginger, and to preserve more vitamins. In doing so, a throat-disinfecting ginger shot can always be quickly made, the grilled chicken is spiced up with a little ginger or delicious ginger lemonade and alcohol-free ginger cocktails are mixed in no time. Since we are talking about positive aspects of ginger on the body, my recipe for non-alcoholic ginger-lemon mocktail comes of course without alcoholic liquids.
Lemon & ginger as a vitamin bomb in mocktails
Healthy enjoyment has never been easier and so delicious and tangy. For my non-alcoholic ginger-lemon mocktail, I first juiced fresh ginger. Since the effort for only a glass is of course not justified, I directly ordered 2kg of fresh ginger from our organic farmer and juiced it. Of course, this takes a little longer, but now there is plenty of stock in the freezer. Ginger juice alone does not make a delicious mocktail and so I then cooked fresh lemon cordial, which brought some sweetness and also acidity to the drink. As it should remain simple, I filled the whole thing with tart tonic water and decorated my mocktail with fresh lemon peel. Simple, delicious and full of vitamins.

Cheers!
