Iceland has some of the most invigerating landscapes in the world, it has a heavily glaciated landscape and everything has a touch of grandure.

 

These images  have an environment and ambient quality to them. As I prgressed my project forward into different types of sound, It made sense to infuse my work with this ambient quality.

 

The images alone are really stricing. I have been creating visuals and I would like to comine them with scenic photography to give it depth and dimention.

 

I would like my visuals to be the main focus in the design and I worry such a big, impactful image may detract and confuse the eye on what is the focal point.

 

My image selection will have to be careful and concise, chosing something scenic but not so imapctul it detract from the main part of the image.

I quite like the idea of including the setting sun. In Iceland there can be up to 72 hours of daylight and the sun never full sets, instead it linger on the horizon and cast a bright hue across the landscape.

Im lookin to infuse the landscapes with shapes, possible of norse mythology or even abrsract design that are representative of the design themes outlines in the brief.

 

I like the aesthtic of an area coveredin shapes. I like that the image is soft and light, although durning th solstace light i bright nd harsh with colour. This may not be a good representation but the idea of photography manipulation is of interest to me

Getting inspired by iceland and its history, geography and culture.

Looking at Norse Symbols to include in the imgery. They resemble the  western alphabet in many ways so using them in hte design should be subttle as not to be mistake from typeography. usinf them as type may be considered a bit too obvious or tacky

Using the setting sun and audio as my influence, I created a poster that reflected an ocean horizon at twilight to capture the scenic landscapes of Iceland. The design uses databending and sound to manipulate the visuals, creating an overall aesthetic . The sound edited setting sun is a symbol of the phases of the the annual solar cycle showing the stages of the sun before the Summer Solstice. Also including subtle Norse symbology throughout the design to pay homage to the festivals history and sense of tradition.
