Wayfinding system
for En Hotel  – a boutique mountain hotel in Zakopane, Poland

En Hotel is an intimate, boutique mountain hotel in Zakopane, located in the middle of the Tatra National Park, on the trail leading to Myslenickie Turnie.

It is situated in a historic building that has been restored and adapted to its new role with attention to the smallest details. The building is constructed of real, natural materials that enhance the beauty and authenticity of this remarkable place. The hotel is built of stones from nearby rivers, accompanied only by wood from the local forests. During the renovation, only materials that were originally found in the Tatra Mountains were used: granite, steel with characteristic discoloration, and wood.

The main idea behind the signage system we prepared for the building was to harmoniously relate to the hotel's interior. The raw materials and the work of local artisans inspired us to design a wayfinding system that is minimalist, but has distinctive features dedicated to the investment.

For the wayfinding system, we envisioned raw metal, which, thanks to the use of non-standard treatments and to specific processing, gives a custom impression. The signage appears in a non-intrusive, delicate way  – we designed only a few directional information, room numbering and some outdoor signs.

The graphic design was prepared in cooperation with Warsaw-based design studio Walk with David, which was responsible for the overall visual identity of the hotel.
