NYP / Direct Mailer
We are proposing two ‘stress relief’ games as the main interactive element of this direct mailer. Targeting
at ‘O’ levels students, these games will encourage them to ‘interact with’ and keep it till the end of their
examinations. The main objectives of the direct mailer are to invite them to NYP Open House, inform
them about the new courses, and also at the same time to keep their mind off of stress during their studies.
Having these requirements in mind, we are proposing the NYP Open House information to be in ‘bite
sized’ on the front cover. When the student opens the direct mailer, he/she will find the first game, ‘Point
of Stress’. This game is designed for students who are doing their individual studies as well as those
having their group studies to play it together.
The name ‘Point of Stress’ game means when feeling exam stress, the student can play the game when
he/she has reached their high point of stress level. Each student will take turn to play the game. Each
will close his/her eyes and point his/her index finger randomly on the paper. If his/her finger lands on
the number ‘19’, he/she will have to refer to the table below for instructions such as ’Give a pat on the
shoulder to the person beside you.’ And the list goes on with different activities that will keep them
engaged and motivated.
Next, when the direct mailer is fully opened, it reveals the second game, ‘Draw your stressed up look!’
The purpose of this game is for the students to have a good laugh and cheer up after sketching out their
stressed up look. They can pin it as a poster on any wall, when stressed, they can write down their stress in
the empty speech bubbles and be stress-free. Alternatively, they can also cut out the dotted lines and play
with it like a face mask.
