Modern archeology has given us a much more accurate and vibrant glimpse into the past through colourful reconstructions of sculptures. Through new technologies we can now find traces of pigment on antiquity long thought to have been left marble white. In my illustration I play with the idea of the young Kore replacing the lotus bud she typically hold in offer with a lipstick and a pocket mirror, as she is reapplying the colour she has lost though the ages on her frozen archaic smile.
