Background

Historically, records have developed in various and in-depth ways, from ancient murals to modern photography and video media. Nowadays, with the tremendous development of digital devices, the volume of records has vast and

the sharing of these records has been happened frequently in daily. This project focuses on this phenomenon and helps you to recall your loved ones again by utilizing common and daily records.

역사적으로 기록은 고대의 벽화에서 현대의 사진과 영상 매체에 이르기까지 그 형태나 방식이 다양하고 깊이 있게 발달되어 왔습니다.
우리가 살고 있는 현재에는 디지털 기기의 엄청난 발달로 기록의 양이 방대해지고 이러한 기록의 공유가 일상화 되어왔습니다.
본 프로젝트는 이러한 현상에 주목하여 흔하고 일상적인 기록들을 활용해 소중한 사람을 추억할 수 있는 제품입니다.

If you trace the path of the stone, you can see the process of changes from a large, heavy rock to a small, light pebble.
Each stone in a different shape contains trace of time.We proceeded the project as getting a metaphor through various stones shape of stacked up.And we designed the symbol based on the dictionary meaning of "COVER" and the overlapping form of stones.

돌의 경로를 추적하다 보면 돌이 크고 묵직한 바위에서 작고 가벼운 돌멩이로 변해가는 과정을 확인할 수 있습니다.
각기 다른 모습의 돌에는 시간의 흔적이 고스란히 담겨집니다. 우리는 이를 통해 다양한 돌멩이들이 쌓여 있는 모습들을

메타포로 프로젝트를 진행했습니다.
"COVER"의 사전적 의미와 돌이 중첩되는 모습을 바탕으로 심볼을 디자인했습니다.

There are various factors that make you remind of your precious person again such as experience, scent,

atmosphere, appearance, preference, voice, and habit etc.
Among them, we focused on ‘habit’ that can reveal individual's uniqueness well, and selected voice, handwriting, and
scent that can be changed with senses and applied them to normal products.

소중한 사람을 다시 추억할 수 있게끔 하는 요소에는 경험, 향, 분위기, 외양, 취향, 목소리, 습관 등 다양합니다.
이 중 개인의 고유성을 잘 드러낼 수 있는 ‘습관’에 집중했고,

감각으로 치환할 수 있는 억양 , 글씨체 , 향을 선택해 일상적인 제품들에 접목해 보았습니다.

Users can be classified two people. As the primary user uses the product, his or her habits are naturally recorded in
‘cover’. This can make users take advantage of the product's function more easily and quickly.
The secondary user who receives the product checks and recalls the recorded habits of the deceased primary user
through a refined sense.

제품의 사용자는 2명으로 구분됩니다. 1차 사용자의 습관이 제품을 사용하는 과정에서 자연스럽게 기록되고 사용자는 저장된 본인의 습관을 통해 더욱 쉽고 빠르게 제품의 기능을 활용할 수 있습니다. 해당 제품을 전달 받은 2차 사용자는 죽은 1차 사용자의 기록된 습관을 정제된 감각을 통해 확인할 수 있으며, 제품은 추억 회상의 매개체임과 동시에 실용적인 제품으로 기능합니다.

01. AI Speaker

We all have different, unique voices.

우리는 각기 다른 고유한 목소리를 지니고 있습니다.

While using the speaker, the voices of primary users are preserved as wavelengths.
Then the secondary user will be able to feel the voice of the primary user, which has been converted to

light through the lamp.

자연스레 기록된 지난 사용자의 목소리가 AI 스피커에 파장으로 저장됩니다.
이후 다음 사용자는 무드등을 통해 빛으로 변환된 지난 사용자의 목소리를 다시 느낄 수 있습니다.

The interface hidden under the stone wil be slowly exposed when powered on.

돌 아래 숨어 있던 인터페이스는 전원이 켜지며 서서히 모습을 드러냅니다.

The power button is located on the back of the product.

The AI-based sound source separation, emotion control, and tone control technologies are used.

전원 버튼은 제품 뒷면에 위치해 있으며, AI 기반 음원 분리, 감정조절, 말투조절 기술이 활용되었습니다.

02. Keyboard

Sometimes, we can easily identify whose handwriting it is by just looking at it.
Handwriting is unique, so no one can easily imitate it.

우리는 가끔 글씨체만 보고도 누구의 글씨체인지 곧잘 알아내곤 합니다.
손글씨는 개인 특유의 것이며 누구도 쉽게 흉내낼 수 없다는 특징을 가지고 있습니다.

The pen and the charging terminal are magnetized like stones hitting each other.
The leather-covered keyboard visually shows the accumulation of time.

마치 돌멩이가 서로 부딪히듯이 펜과 충전 단자가 자석으로 부착됩니다.
가죽 소재의 키보드는 시간의 흐름을 시각적으로 보여줍니다.

A pen-written memo is converted into text, and the user's handwriting is preserved as visual data.
Frequent handwriting from previous users are not erased and remain with the secondary user.
It helps to recall phrases that were frequently used by primary users in their own handwriting.

펜으로 작성한 메모는 텍스트로 변환되고, 그 과정에서 사용자의 필체가 시각 데이터로 저장됩니다.
개중 빈번히 적힌 글씨는 지워지지 않고 다음 사용자에게 남아, 지난 사용자가 자주 사용했던 문구를

고유한 필체 그대로 되새기는 것을 돕습니다.

03. Digital frame & Smart diffuser

The fragrance leaves a memory. We often think of a particular person through incense.

Photos and scents combine to bring back richer memories.

향기는 기억을 남깁니다. 우리는 향을 통해 특정 사람을 떠올리곤 합니다.

사진과 향기가 어우러져 더욱 풍부한 추억을 떠올릴 수 있습니다.

you can easily operate with the power button located on the back of the product.

The power button on the back helps the secondary user focus more on the primary user.

제품 뒷면에 위치한 전원 버튼으로 손쉽게 조작할 수 있습니다.

뒷면에 위치한 전원 버튼은 2차 사용자가 1차 사용자에게 더욱 집중할 수 있게 도와줍니다.

The fragrance of the diffuser, which is frequently used by the primary user, is stored

in the capsule in units of electrical signals.
When you put a capsule on the back of the device and operate it, you can reminisce and reminisce about your loved ones by looking at photos in a digital frame linked with the scent.

1차 사용자가 자주 사용한 디퓨저의 향이 캡슐 안에 전기 신호 단위로 저장됩니다.

기기 후면에 캡슐을 넣고 작동 시키면 해당 향과 함께 연동된 디지털 액자 속 사진을 보며 소중한 사람을 추억하고 회상할 수 있습니다.
