Anonymous by Naomi Iizuka is a contemporary retelling of Homer's The Odyssey through the life experiences of a refugee child separated from his mother at sea. Originally commissioned and performed by the Children's Theatre Compony in Minnesota, Anonymous is a breathtaking journey through dangerous unfamiliar places filled with colorful and often frightening characters. 

Anonymous was my first production as a director at the University of Montevallo. Despite being on the tail end of the COVID pandemic, the production was beautiful and deeply personal. Having several friends who are displaced because of war, I wanted their story to be honored in our performance. The cast and crew was enormous for this performance. All told there were approximately seventy students involved either onstage, backstage, or in the front of house.
