'Static' is a creative writing piece about a man stuck in a lift. As the narrative develops the reader finds that as well as being stationary in the lift his life is also at a stand still. I wanted to convey the looping lift music throughout without using text so applied thread in sound wave patterns intertwined with the story. The thread also represts the relentless repetitive thoughts inside the man's head.
