I decided to do some illustrations of dinosaurs. At first I sketched a little dinosaur. I thought it was cute, but very simple. So I did some kids interacting with dinosaurs. It still wasn't what I wanted. So I decided to make a simple drawing of a baby dinosaur, who uses a giant watering can. And then the "what if?" phase began.
What if the dinosaur was with the mother?
What if the mother carried a baby dinosaur?
What if instead of a flower, it's a whole flowerbed?
What if there's a tree in the background?
What if I stretched the canvas upwards to create depth and made a colossal tree?
What if there was a community of dinosaurs in the tree?
What if the baby dinosaur is actually watering the tree's roots?
And if...?
