CD Digipack Design - Have A Nice Life

have a nice life - triformis
concept design for a digipack cd package
Formed in 2000 in Connecticut, Have A Nice Life are an American post-punk band. The band is formed by Dan Barrett and Tim Macuga.
For this design I wanted to follow the somber aesthetic that the group went for on their previous records, an aesthetic which visually relies on artworks such as Jacques-Louis David's "The Death of Marat". With this in mind, the images I used are all photographs I took of sculptures from the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, in Lisbon.
The album's name is a direct reference to a triple deity formed by roman goddesses Hecate, Diana and Luna. To complement this, three songs on the record's tracklist are named after each goddess, and a sculpture of Diana is pictured on the back cover.

Since the band takes historical events as a creative motif, the pagan references and use of sculptures as the main visual theme fit well with the band's image.
