"Amanirenas was a queen of Meroë, and her full title was Amnirense
qore li Amanirenas (ruler and Kandake). Amanirenas held the title
qore because she ruled as a queen. She is believed to have been a
joint monarch with her husband, known as Teritegas, and after his death, she ruled the kingdom alone. Amanirenas was a Kandake or royal woman because her son, Prince Akinidad, was heir to the throne."
