Sound frequency typeface

A sound, the sound of a letter in the alphabet in our case, is made up of vibrations at differenct frequencies. At school our task was to make a personal handwriting font, but taking only the 'personal' aspect of the task, I wanted to produce a different solution, a much different, experimental typeface.

The sounds of the hungarian alphabet was recorded, then converted to an image, which displays the vibrations on the frequency scale for each individual sound. The next thing to do was to take out the "trash' (i.e. the background noise and all the unnecessary noises) from each sound, by creating a simplified alphabet using rectangles, considering the position and the strength of the vibrations at the given frequencies.

Comparing the sounds is also interesting, taking u, ú, ü, ű, in which you can understand the basis of the process. (if you are interested, the correct pronounciation of these hungarian letters can be found here.)

Thank you!
