This was my contest entry for a logo competition for Steinkjermartnan. Steinkjermartnan is an outdoor market held every August in Steinkjer, and to celebrate it's 50th anniversary, they wanted a brand new logo. The brief was to make a logo that presented the martna as a market centre, not only for the town itself, but also the surrounding region.
With that in mind I created a logo that uses the Steinkjer county coat of arms, incorporated in the shape of a pin point. The coat of arms' 6-pointed star represent the 6 roads that leads in to the town. In use with the pin point I wanted the logo to point out Steinkjer on the map, and to point out the town as a market centre.
