CONCEPT NOTE:
The key rule to being punctual, is being organized. Sometimes, we spend a lot of time looking and searching for things we need and this causes situations to go out of control.
In markets, we get organizing trays that arrange things in sections, but these sections do not fit as per our requirements. This product is a separator and a divider that is adjustable to different lengths as needed. It would be available in different heights, so the user could pick the suitable depending on the depth of drawers and trays. It has a vacuum suction base to keep the separator bars in place and has a reel back mechanism for the adjustable belt.
The inspiration for this product is the queue divider seen in airports, banks and restaurants. The product was designed keeping in mind, visually impaired people. Therefore, the sidebars have a system where Braille script can be used to write down the name of the object, on that side of the separator.
Since one of the main focus of this design was "Adjustability", the Braille wouldn't be permanent and could be re-written.
The final model is expected to look something like this. Strong and bright colored sidebars, so that sections can be color coded. With the vacuum rubber at the bottom of the sidebar, like in a coconut grinder. Also, there is not supposed to be any knob at the top to roll the cloth in, as it would be a reel back mechanism like in airport queue dividers.
