monetary value of Art and Design

The considerations of the essay are based on a questionnaire in which people were asked to define art and design in their own words. Besides, they should name how an artist or a designer is characterized for them.

The answers are collected on a website. The interviewed persons are distinguished between »designer« and »non-designer« to be able to differentiate between self-image and public-image.

Hereby, the prerequisite shall be created to be able to comprehend, analyze and evaluate possible changes of the social position of art, artists, design and designers over the years.
