The Cobra Collapsible guitar was my final year project for my Bachelors of Product Design. The goal with this guitar was to allow it to be able to collapse down into a small enough shape that it could fit inside an everyday backpack allowing it to be transported anywhere easily. The guitar also needed to be full size and have the same functionality of a normal electric guitar to allow it be to be a worthwhile practice instrument instead of being a gimmick. Overall the guitar reduces its size by 59% when collapsed. I used recycled Rimu wood for the body and neck of this guitar and the fretboard is Pau Ferro.
