An Artist's Refuge
This project is a submission for the 3rd year final project for my BSc in Architecture at Cardiff University.
As a response to the rise of automation, this project examines the idea of leisure in a post-industrial society. Using recycled materials from derelict industrial buildings on the site, the metabolic art community proposes a framework for an expanding infrastructure for a growing artist's community in Swansea.
In homage to the 'Kardomah Cafe', an artist's commonplace that was lost in 1941 due to a bombing in Swansea. The project proposes 3 interventions which are commonplace for creatives.
