SAP Brasil supporting professional training in technology for young people in Paraisópolis
With focus on the growing demand for professionals in the IT market and social inclusion in this sector, since 2017 SAP Brasil has been offering training to students in Paraisópolis, one of the largest communities in São Paulo.
The support takes place via the FIAP Institute to the high school students of Associação Crescer Sempre and includes several fronts, focusing on STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Young people have weekly tutoring focused on entrance exams, Robotics and Programming courses in Python language and undergraduate scholarships in Information Technology at the FIAP University Center.
In addition to the monetary donation that makes these activities possible, SAP Brasil acts with a group of company volunteers. Annually, employees from different areas, levels and functions organize themselves to plan face-to-face or virtual meetings with students and share their knowledge about the job market.
In 2022, for example, career mentoring sessions in the Technology sector were held for 2nd grade high school students, hosted for an afternoon at the company's office in São Paulo, and online workshops to prepare 3rd grade students for the future of work and university life.
Every year around 500 young people are impacted by the partnership between SAP and Associação Crescer Sempre, via FIAP Institute. Between 2018 and 2022, 15 young people who went through Crescer Semper won full-time scholarships in different FIAP courses. In 2022, in addition to the Enem preparation project, SAP donated three university scholarships to Crescer Semper students.
