O romance de Arthur Schnitzler nos conta uma aventura que se mantém constantemente no limiar da realidade e dos sonhos, narrando de maneiras que nos colocam justamente nessa linha tênue. A obra-prima austríaca envolve situações bizarras, mórbidas e — talvez principalmente — sexuais. Por essa razão, optou-se por seguir uma linha gráfica baseada no trabalho expressionista e muito sensual de Egon Schiele, artista também da Áustria e contemporâneo ao escritor deste livro.

This novel of Arthur Schnitzler tell us about an adventure that is constantly on the threshold of reality and dreams, narrating in ways that place us precisely on that fine line. The Austrian masterpiece involves bizarre, morbid and — perhaps mainly — sexual situations. For this reason, we chose to follow a graphic line based on the expressionist and very sensual work of Egon Schiele, an artist also from Austria and a contemporary of the writer of this book.

Além dos grafismos que nos conduzem pela narrativa psicológica, alucinante e muitas vezes erótica, o projeto ainda conta com uma luva/sobrecapa com recorte, que reforça ao leitor um grande questionamento da obra: teria tudo aquilo acontecido dentro da cabeça do protagonista Fridolin?

In addition to the aesthetics that lead us through the psychological, hallucinatory and often erotic narrative, the project also has a glove/jacket with a cutout, which reinforces the reader's major questioning about the work: could all that have happened inside the head of the protagonist Fridolin?

Para este projeto de design editorial, além da pintura trilateral, ainda contamos com um miolo colorido e diagramações arejadas e minimalistas, que trazem obras de Egon Schiele a ilustrar passagens específicas e reforçar o universo onírico e sensual da obra. Tudo isso, é claro, de maneira elegante e moderna ao mesmo tempo.

For this editorial design project, in addition to the fore-edging painting, we also have a colorful book block with minimalist layouts, which brings the artworks of Egon Schiele to illustrate specific passages and reinforce the dreamlike and sensual universe of the book. All this, of course, in an elegant and modern way at the same time.
