A prancha acima foi criada em 2021/1 para a disciplina Expressão Visual do curso de Design Gráfico da USJT. Ao longo do semestre, nos foram solicitadas uma série de atividades, principalmente voltadas à arte tradicional e maquetes. Uma das disciplinas mais difíceis da graduação, senti a dor em meus ossos. Na prancha, selecionei meus melhores trabalhos do semestre, nos quais a liberdade para me expressar voou e o critério das atividades me alavancou e não foi capaz de me aprisionar.

This board was created in 2021/1 for Visual Expression discipline of USJT Graphic Design course. Throughout the semester, we were tasked with a series of activities, mainly focused on traditional art and models. One of the toughest graduation subjects, I felt the pain in my bones. On the board, I selected my best work of the semester, in which the freedom to express myself took flight and the activities criteria propelled me and wasn't able to hold me down.

"Olhe para cima" consistia em registrar as nuvens e estrelas do céu a partir de manchas criadas por nossos dedos sujos de grafite, ilustrando por cima delas logo em seguida. As obras são denominadas "Abissal", "Bióloga" e "Mapa Galático", respectivamente.

"Look up" consisted of registering the clouds and stars in the sky from spots created by our graphite stained fingers, drawing over them right after. The illustrantions are named "Abyssal", "Biologist" and "Galactic Map" respectively.

"Natureza morta", à primeira vista, não parecia uma atividade que intrigasse: precisávamos fotografar frutas e ilustrá-las em estilo realista (imagem à esquerda). Foi na segunda parte, "Sinestesia", em que me encontrei: representar o sabor de uma das frutas visualmente. A ilustração à direita, "Agridoce", é uma representação do sabor doce tornado adstringente da uva.

"Still life" at first glance didn't seem like an intriguing activity: photograph fruits and illustrate them in a realistic style (image on the left). It was in the second part, "Synesthesia", where I found myself: representing the flavor of one of the fruits visually. The illustration on the right, "Agrisweet", is a representation of the grape's sweet turned astringent taste.

Em "Linha única", precisávamos representar cômodos e seus objetos a partir de uma linha única, brincando com sobreposições, a desorganização dos elementos e o caos.

In "Single Line", we needed to represent rooms and their objects using a single line, playing with overlaps, the disorganization of elements and the chaos.

"Corte e Dobra" consistia em criar uma escultura de papel apenas a partir de cortes e dobras, sem tirar pedaços do papel. A estrutura era acompanhada de três escalas humanas para fins de comparação. Após registro fotográfico, o objetivo passou a ser representar a escultura nas três diferentes escalas, em estilo croqui.

"Cut and Fold" consisted of creating a paper sculpture only by cutting and folding, without removing pieces of the paper. The structure was accompanied by three human scales for comparison purposes. After the photographic record, the task consisted of doing sketches of the sculpture in the three different scales.

Inspirado no trabalho de Lygia Clark, "B I C H O" nos propôs a criar uma estrutura de papel articulada, de triângulos conectados por fita adesiva. Desse modo, ela podia atingir vários formatos diferentes, simulando as obras da artista de referência.

Inspired by the work of Lygia Clark, "B I C H O" (animal/creature) proposed the creation of an articulated paper structure, of triangles connected by adhesive tape. This way, it could reach several different formats, simulating Clark's sculptures.

Em "poesia concreta", fomos desafiados a criar um poema visual relacionado a pandemia. "Quarentena aperta, aperto quarentena" é uma representação visual da prisão solitária, mas necessária, da quarentena.

In "concrete poetry", our challenge was to create a visual poem that had the pandemic as theme. "Quarantine squeezes, squeezes quarantine" is a visual representation of the lonely but necessary prison that was quarantine.
