I created this illustration "The Tragedy" as my entry into the Architizer's year 2022 One Drawing Challenge. The setting is the year 2110. The image represents a life-size interactive exhibit by the same name. In this fictional, yet sad scenario a war across the United States brings about the destruction of one of America's most iconic monuments. Activated by motion sensors, animatronics dressed as field technicians in white robes narrate the tragic events, and their plans to perform a stabilization process to protect the parts of the statue that survived the war among brothers.
Hopefully, the exhibit helps convey the importance of a stable Union. The exhibit space is a hangar type environment fitted with an IMAX-type projection background showing a futuristic city, and hovering transports sent to provide the necessary resources for the task.
Hopefully, the exhibit becomes just a warning and not a historical account.
