In today's world of constant turnover and change, there seems to be less and less of traditions, or times to completely disconnect from modern society.  Everyone is usually too busy, it's just too chaotic, or other obligations unrelated to hobbies or interests take precedent.  In many cases, it is what it is, and that's just the way it goes...

However, there's one tradition for our family that will absolutely never be broken.  There's one weekend a year where outside of a newborn baby, you're just simply not getting a pass from our group.  That tradition? It's 'Saturday Night Steak Night,' and it falls on the Minnesota rifle hunting opener at our cabin in the middle of nowhere called deer camp.  Come hell or high-water there's simply nothin' stoppin' that night from happening.  We disconnect and plug into a different outlet, and one of which doesn't have service, but you can definitely find a "bar" or two.

For our group, THIS is what hunting is all about.  This is our highlight.  It's not about the meat-pole being full, or the size of the buck rack that dangles from your tailgate.  Don't get it twisted, all of that is a bonus, and we're overjoyed for those individual moments.  Yet, for us, it's about two families coming together and creating a camp camaraderie that is second to none.  Not a single soul goes parched, nor does anyone leave without a smile on their face, and a belly-laugh memory from that night to carry over into the next season, because that is what it's truly all about.  That is our tradition. That is our deer camp. That is our 'Saturday Night Steak night.'
#DIVERGE11 - PHOTO CONTEST
The 11th year of DIVERGE has begun. A photo contest (thousands of submissions) that’s stood the test of time thanks to incredible images that have done the same. DIVERGE has pushed the boundaries of what a hunting photo can look like.

When we first launched this photo contest eleven years ago, we hoped to see photos that celebrated the life we knew as hunters, but seldom saw depicted in traditional hunting media. We wanted DIVERGE to be a platform for the raw, rugged, beautiful, and true moments—both good and bad—not just trophy shots.

As we enter a new decade of stalking with shutters, we hope you to never settle in the pursuit of images that echo well beyond the wild. Show us shots from your hunts, but also your lives as hunters—images that inspire and capture the connection between humans, hunting, and the surrounding ecosystems that we’re all a part of.
