The design is based on the character Calcifer from the book series Howl's Moving Castle. The deskmat is designed as if the user is in the same dwelling as beloved characters Howl and Sofie. 

The original design is inspired by my love for Chinese Gong Fu Tea influenced by my parents, and the desire to bring the traditional practice into a whimsical modern setting.
