BRIEFING
An existing space located on the ground floor of a newly built complex in the centre of Luanda is to be transformed into a showroom for luxury cars.
The program included a 450sq.m. Showroom and 450 sq.m. of office spaces to be located on an upper level.
CONCEPT
A starting point for the project was identified as being the importance of generating an environment that would highlight the aesthetic qualities of the design of the cars.
Recognizing that the full appreciation of the shape of a car's bodywork takes place with diffused natural lighting, the showroom has been conceived like a light-box that makes use of an apparently continuous white surface that unites the ceiling to the floor and that cut's out most of the natural light penetrating from the window cases.
A ceiling made of stretched fabric will provide a luminescent lighting system that will be further reflected by a white epoxy floor.
