Flashforward is a speculative publication on the Metaverse. A glossary that comes from the future, in which each letter of the alphabet explores a part of reality in an imaginary cyber-world. The focus is on art direction: the interpretation is irreverent and dystopian. We worked on objects, shapes and concepts that really exist in the real world, and then we pushed them beyond the edge of the digital, shifting their semiotic meaning.
This project is conceived as an open project: the first 26 contents (from A to Z) of the encyclopedia of the future are shown here, in this book, but it can be expanded over time by designers who want to participate.
That's why the binding chosen is a ring mechanism, which would make it more convenient to update or expand the book. The cover, on the other hand, is a flexible PVC that attempts to reinvent the classic ring binding in a contemporary, futuristic way. In fact, the PVC generates a strong contrast with the steel of the rings and the softness of the paper.

Flashforward è una pubblicazione speculativa sul Metaverso. Un glossario che viene dal futuro, in cui ogni lettera dell'alfabeto esplora una parte di realtà di un cyber-mondo originario. Il focus è sull'art direction: l'interpretazione qui proposta è irriverente e distopica. Abbiamo lavorato su oggetti, forme e concetti realmente esistenti nel nostro universo, per poi spingerli oltre la soglia della digitalizzazione, spostando il loro significato semiotico.
Questo progetto è concepito come un progetto aperto: le prime 26 voci (dalla A alla Z) dell'enciclopedia del futuro sono mostrate qui, all'interno di questa pubblicazione, che però può essere espansa nel tempo da altri designer.
Ecco perché la rilegatura scelta è un meccanismo ad anelli, che renderebbe più pratico l'aggiornamento o l'espansione del libro. La copertina, invece, è un PVC flessibile che tenta di reinventare in modo contemporaneo, a tratti futuristico, la classica rilegatura ad anelli.
