Sneakers and Skaters Game on.

 
We wanted to get Snickers into the hands of London's fashion adopters -skateboarders.  A hard bunch to engage with. To do this we needed to speak to them in their own language. We enlisted local street artists - Kev Grey, Otwo, James Carey and Omar Karin to lend credibility to the designs. We immersed ourselves in the skateboarder's environments, picking up textures found in the inner-city skate spots. The Snickers branding had to be subtle, we illustrated and manipulated it, making it part of the design. The product message- Snickers gives you the energy to get up and go again was also subtly hidden within the graffitied headlines. The double page print ran in specialized skate magazines, the layouts echoing a style used regularly in street art annuals.
The urban landscapes were shot by Nadav Kander and Paul Young.
The campaign won Creative Circle silver.
