The typeface is a sensual truncating of the baseline line with subtle blow-by-blow illustrations that should satisfy the exacting type connoisseur. What I like most about this design is that it hides very little of the typeface’s history, belonging to a particular slice of typography history.

As a type enthusiast who has always desired sans-serif typefaces that were enormous, I have always been repelled by this. The New York Times Book Review has long been waiting for a sans-serif typeface that would match their technological weight; thisaving, New York Magazine has been demanding such a bold progressive idea for many years and even presidential candidate Obama finally kicked the issue into gear with the release of his book Obama: Search and Destroy came up with Hicks.
