A glyph is a term used in typography for the visual representation of one or more characters. It is a variety of designs of a certain character. So if you have a collection of 3 different letters and/or numbers, you have 3 glyphs. The purpose of designing with glyphs is to utilize these symbols to further ideas in the designing world. It helps in controlling typefaces used during designs and posters.
For this first project, we were tasked to create two glyph compositions, each at 6.75" × 8" (Black & white). The typefaces used were Neue Haas Grotesque Bold (sans serif) and Stemple Garamond Roman (Serif). Our composition had to contain 5-8 glyphs, and at least 5 elements of typography anatomy.
