Baazish | Branding Reveal
Motion Graphics
I was commissioned to design a motion graphic Instagram post for the branding reveal of Baazish. Baazish is a start-up that designs and distributes board games in Iran. It also teaches players how to play board games in a collaborative atmosphere.
Asal Farshchi designed the visual identity and branding for this project. Aside from the visual elements, she also established a harmonious relationship between the Persian and the English logo. This relationship helped us write our story and develop our storyboard for this post.
The purpose of this video is to show the dynamic relationship between the Persian logo and the English logo, the color pallet, and the simplified visual elements that were inspired by the object used in a board game.
We decided to create a story about a playful circle. Using magnified details of the initial branding motifs, we designed scenes in which the circle is playing in. Throughout its journey, the circle takes on different tasks, sometimes it just rolls down a hill like a ball, another time becomes an eye, then turns into white printed circles that we usually see on dice.
The circle is constantly taking positions and roles and abandoning the previous one. Through its journey, the former shapes and scenes of this motion become obsolete. The circle as the winking eye cannot be positioned as the rolling ball and the rolling ball can be part of the dice. Therefore my main focus was to curate the movements in a way that would complement each other.
For the theme and music, I chose western movies. The magnified details of the visual object reminded us of the Grand Canyon, and inspired by the typical western movies, I chose the song and sound effects. Moreover, matching the sound with the movements helped me emphasize the playfulness and the fun part of this branding.
