日本の有機農業や和太鼓など、伝統文化を広めるために活動をされているクライアントの名刺を制作させていただきました。日本を元気にするという１つの志のもと、様々な活動をされており、活動内容が多岐に渡るために相手になかなか全貌が伝わらないという課題を感じられていました。その課題を解決するため、名刺を渡した際に話の導入となるようなデザインを目指しました。「日本をもっと元気にしたい」という純度の高いメッセージの周りに、それぞれの活動内容を象徴するマークを配置することで、クライアントの思いや活動を視覚化しています。それぞれマークには日本の伝統的な紋様や、それらを組み合わせたオリジナルの紋を制作し、活動内容と共に、日本の伝統も想起させることを目指しました。
A business card for a client who is involved in activities to promote traditional Japanese culture, such as organic farming and taiko drumming. The client is involved in a variety of activities with the single goal of energizing Japan, and because of the wide range of activities, the client felt that it was difficult to convey a complete picture of their activities to others. To solve this problem, I aimed to create a design that would serve as an introduction to the conversation when the business card is handed to the recipient. I visualized the client's thoughts and activities by placing marks symbolizing each activity around a pure message, "We want to make Japan more energetic." For each mark, I used a traditional Japanese pattern which is called "mon", or an original mon that combines traditional Japanese patterns, aiming to evoke Japanese traditions along with the activities.
