Creation and activation of the identity of a cultural site.
Presentation
The MediaRuimte '01t XYZ ' is an exhibition venue, supported by the Flemish Community and the Lab [au] office. The digital art platform programming is centered on the digital medium and its many forms of expression.
The MediaRuimte hosts a variety of activities ranging from exhibitions (' MR.xpo ), artist talk (' MR.ini ), audio- visual performance (' MR.wav ), conferences (' MR.txt ') online degree (' MR.www ), artist residencies (' MR.tmp ') to workshops (' MR.exe ') .
There since the fall of 2003 and located in the center of Brussels ( between Ysère and De Brouckère ). Combining a 'white cube' and 'black box' on 3 floors with a total surface of 300 sqm and unfolding on the street via two large windows.
The intent of Lab [au] - active architects in the digital media arts - is the creation of a platform for artists where the artists' experiences are shared with the public .
Singularity of the site
The singularity of MediaRuimte lies in its multidisciplinary nature within the digital medium. This specificity is reflected in the architecture of the building: two cubes for two different but complementary areas.
The correctness of the program , however, not confined to the premises of an elite ... free entrance reflected as a motto of the venue. More multidisciplinary than his " competitor " iMal , the MediaRuimte exposes less different artists in one season . However, although quite picky in the quality of the artists, the two venues dedicated to digital art complement .
Graphic procedure
To express this multidisciplinary within the digital medium, the logo is based on a monospaced font: the Andale Mono . The graphic identity will highlight the line; it symbolizes the connection between two or more points at the boundary of a surface ( eg a cube ).
