Some time ago (January 13-14) I had the pleasure of documenting the festivities of the bulgarian tradition
"Surva", together with the Survakar group
in the village of Cherna Gora. I contacted the leader of the group - Pepi, who was so responsive and hospitable that he agreed on me staying with them for two days so that I could pass my anthropology course. In the process, while photographing and observing the energy of the group and the dedication they put into what they do, I realized for myself that I want to continue doing this kind of thing and document human behaviors, experiences, dilemmas, dramas. I am happy to share my first step in documentary or anthropological photography, and I most strongly wish upon myself the opportunity and inspiration to take on such projects in the future.

Thanks to the group for the experience, next year my plan is to be a “survakar” as well, so stay tuned :)
